Inspiration from My Yoga Studio

I get inspiration from places that make me feel safe, and one of these is my yoga studio. In fact, I’ve made 2 paintings to-date inspired by the view out their window (which I often view upside-down in downward facing dog pose!). Here’s one of them - with artistic license, of course!

When I mentioned this to the lovely staff of One Down Dog, they invited me to hang 4 of my paintings in the Eagle Rock location for the month of September, celebrating Yoga Month. I will be present doing an Art Pop-up and selling prints on Sept. 15 (9am-12pm) and Sept 18 (4-8pm).

Check location hours if you want to stop in and view the paintings at other times (no yoga required!). Paintings also available through my SHOP.

Open House @ Chalk Hill Artist Residency

Three of my paintings will be featured at Chalk Hill Artist Residency's Holiday Party & Open House this Sunday December 10, 1-4PM. Address and directions here

This is where I did my painting retreat in September - see my photo album of this gorgeous locale. *Note: I am unable to attend, but the event is free and open to the public. Art will be available for sale.

June @ The Hive

Do you believe in second chances? If you missed the show last month, you have another chance to come see my paintings (& meet me!) at The Hive Gallery & Studios this month. I'll be present for the event nights:

  • June 4, 8-11PM, Opening Reception
  • June 9, 6-11PM, DTLA Art Walk

Trust me, original paintings are ALWAYS better in real life, so if you're in the area, stop by!

Regular gallery hours are Wed-Sat, 1-6PM. 729 S. Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90014.

Happy International Women's Day 2016!

Happy International Women's Day! This year the theme is Pledge for Global Gender Parity. Yup, "parity" is a word, one I was unfamiliar with; it is a synonym for "equality." Learn something new every day.

My pledge is to help women & girls achieve their ambitions. With that in mind, for the month of March (Women's History month) I'm donating 10% of all sales in my print shop to Girls, Inc., a nonprofit organization "inspiring all girls to be strong, smart & bold."

My print shop features fine art prints ($35 each) of original paintings from my "Flawless" series, which is about refusing to apologize for femininity, recognizing that pretty isn't weak.
